White Fused Alumina
White fused alumina (WFA) is an electro-fused alumina product with high purity and hardness, used as aggregate in refractories and as abrasive grains.
Description
It is produced by fusing calcined alumina in an electric arc furnace, followed by crushing and grading. Owing to its low iron content and chemical inertness, WFA is applied where high refractoriness and wear resistance are needed, such as kiln linings, blasting media, and ceramic components.
Applications
- High-alumina refractories and castables
- Abrasive tools for grinding, polishing, and blasting
- Wear-resistant flooring and ceramic components
- Functional filler for corrosion-resistant coatings
Packaging
- Multi-layer bags or drums on pallets
- Clear labeling for product name and batch identification
- Avoid tearing and moisture ingress during handling
Storage
- Store in a dry, covered area away from moisture
- Keep sealed when not in use
- Use FIFO management for consistent material quality
