Silica Brick
Silica brick is a high-SiO₂ refractory used in selected furnace zones, noted for high-temperature dimensional stability under appropriate conditions.
Description
Manufactured from silica-rich raw materials with controlled firing, silica brick is commonly applied in coke ovens and glass furnace superstructures. Grade, shape, and installation follow lining design and service requirements.
Applications
- Coke oven walls and roofs (design-specific)
- Glass furnace crowns and superstructures
- Other structures designed for silica refractory behavior
Packaging
- Palletized with protective wrapping and corner protection
- Labels for product name, size, and batch identification
- Handle to avoid edge chipping and impact damage
Storage
- Store dry and covered to limit moisture uptake
- Stack on flat wooden supports; avoid overloading
- Keep packaged until installation; use FIFO
