Ferromanganese 75%

From Harbour Refractory — reference entry

Ferromanganese 75% is a manganese–iron alloy used in steelmaking for deoxidation and alloying to reach target Mn levels in specified grades.

Description

Typical practice adds ferromanganese during tapping or ladle refining to adjust manganese content and assist oxygen removal. Particle size, carbon level, and addition timing are selected according to the steel grade and process route.

Applications

  • Deoxidizer and alloying addition in ladle metallurgy
  • Composition adjustment to reach target Mn in carbon and low-alloy steels
  • Foundry additions for composition control where applicable

Packaging

  • Packed in bags or cartons placed on wooden pallets
  • Each package labeled with product name and batch identification
  • Handle to avoid tearing and spillage during loading and transport

Storage

  • Store in a dry, ventilated warehouse away from moisture
  • Keep packages sealed when not in use
  • Use first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices for multiple batches
