Electro-fused Zirconia Mullite 2–1mm

From Harbour Refractory — reference entry

Electro-fused zirconia mullite is a fused material containing zirconia and mullite phases for corrosion- and thermal-shock-related service.

Description

It is produced by electric-furnace melting and controlled solidification, followed by crushing and grading. The composition is used as aggregate in refractories that encounter alkali vapors or glass contact, and in zones with temperature gradients.

Applications

  • Aggregates for steel and glass contact refractories
  • Castables or bricks exposed to thermal gradients
  • Wear areas requiring improved corrosion behavior

Packaging

  • Delivered in moisture-protected bags or drums on pallets
  • Product name, grain size, and batch data on labels
  • Avoid mechanical shock during transport

Storage

  • Store clean and dry; keep sealed until use
  • Limit moisture pickup before batching
  • Use FIFO across multiple deliveries
