Earth Graphite (Amorphous Graphite)
Amorphous graphite, also called earthy graphite, is a microcrystalline carbon material used in refractories and foundry applications.
Description
It is produced from metamorphic carbon deposits ground to fine powder. Compared with flake graphite, it has lower crystallinity but good thermal and chemical stability suitable for carbon additions and coatings.
Applications
- Carbon additive in refractory and foundry mixes
- Facing materials and coatings for molds
- Conductive fillers in carbon-based formulations
Packaging
- Bagged or bulk on pallets with batch labeling
- Minimize dust release during handling
- Avoid moisture contamination
Storage
- Store dry and covered; keep sealed when not in use
- Avoid open flame or high humidity environments
- Use FIFO for consistent carbon properties
