Dead-Burned Magnesia
Dead-burned magnesia (DBM) is a high-density magnesium oxide material used as a basic refractory aggregate.
Description
Produced by calcining magnesite or brucite at high temperature to achieve low reactivity and stable crystal structure. The resulting periclase grains provide chemical compatibility with basic slags and excellent refractoriness.
Applications
- Basic bricks and castables for steelmaking furnaces
- Refractory linings for non-ferrous and cement kilns
- Repair materials for basic slag zones
Packaging
- Bulk or bagged on pallets with batch labeling
- Prevent contamination and moisture ingress
- Handle to avoid crushing of coarse grains
Storage
- Store in a dry, covered warehouse
- Keep packaging intact until use
- FIFO management for lot uniformity
