Carburizing Agent
Carburizing agent is a carbonaceous additive used to increase carbon content in molten iron and, where appropriate, in steel refining.
Description
Grades differ in fixed carbon, sulfur/ash content, and particle size. Selection is based on dissolution behavior and composition targets under the specific process conditions.
Applications
- Carbon adjustment in foundry irons
- Supplemental carbon in steel refining (practice-dependent)
- Component in carbon-containing refractory or metallurgical mixes
Packaging
- Supplied in bags or jumbo bags on pallets
- Labels show product name and batch identification
- Prevent moisture ingress and bag damage in handling
Storage
- Store in a dry, covered area; keep sealed after opening
- Avoid direct contact with water
- Use FIFO for consistency across lots
